“As one of the leading UK manufacturers and suppliers of washroom equipment for the healthcare market, education sector and catering industry, with offices based in Leeds, Pland Stainless is an established player founded in 1919. This wealth of experience is an ideal environment for their new apprentices to flourish, all of whom were recruited with the help of the Leeds Apprentice Training Agency (ATA).

“The apprentices have joined a workforce of over 50 people. They have completed an initial twelve day induction shadowing people through the business from sales, through production and accounting. Two have now settled in production, one in the warehouse and another in business support. Shortage of skills is a major issue facing the manufacturing sector and we are hoping this scheme provides a solution for our business.” Said Ian Hodgson, Operations Director for Pland Stainless and also member of the steering team for the Leeds Manufacturing Forum.
