Stainless Steel Hygienic Pantry in Harley Street

A prestigious private hospital in London has recently unveiled a custom pantry room designed in collaboration with Apollo Building Services. The space features state-of-the-art stainless steel cabinetry sourced from the well-respected UK manufacturer Pland Stainless.

The private hospital was in need of a practical and hygienic custom solution for their pantry refurbishment. Apollo, a company that has frequently sourced stainless steel products from Pland in Leeds, collaborated with Pland’s designers to create bespoke stainless steel lockable cabinetry. The cabinets, both wall-mounted and floor-standing, were crafted from 304-grade stainless steel and included a set of drawers, a dedicated microwave shelf, as well as custom worktops and integral sinks featuring an HTM63 bullnose front. All components were carefully manufactured using hygienic Grade 304 stainless steel to meet the clinic’s specific requirements.

Stainless steel is a great choice for a pantry environment due to its remarkable properties. There are various grades of stainless steel, with Grade 304 being a ductile material suitable for shaping objects, and Grade 316 offering even greater corrosion resistance. Stainless steel provides a long service life, requires little maintenance, and holds high scrap value when decommissioned and recycled. Additionally, it is 100% recyclable, making it an environmentally friendly option. Notably, stainless steel is recognised for its hygienic qualities, often used for surgical instruments and medical implants, and is known for its ease of cleaning and exceptional durability.
